Our practice has five veterinarians and a supporting team comprised of highly skilled technicians, assistants, receptionists, and administrators. Many of us have worked together for decades, and we love our team.

Clifford G. Cummings, DVM, Hospital Director

Dr. Clifford G. Cummings founded Cummings Veterinary Hospital in 2004 after 25 years of being the senior partner and hospital director of Northside Animal Hospital. Dr. Cummings received his bachelor of science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. He is an active member of the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, and the American Veterinary Medical Associations. He has served on various professional committees and has held the office of President of the Lehigh Valley and Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Associations. He received the Practitioner Service Award from the American Animal Hospital Association in 1995 and the Veterinarian of the Year Award from the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association in 1997. His particular interests are internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Cummings and his wife, Jane, live in Bethlehem with their new Doberman puppy, Mattis.

Natalie Daniels, VMD

Dr. Daniels has had animals all her life, and early in life she decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. To that end, she attended Harcum Junior College in Bryn Mawr and received her associate’s degree in animal health technology and her veterinary technician certification in 1985. While working as a veterinary technician, she attended the Pennsylvania State University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in animal production, which she received in 1988. Dr. Daniels was accepted into the veterinary program at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, earning her veterinary degree in 1991. She practiced small animal medicine and surgery in the Philadelphia area for five years before relocating back to her hometown with her family.

In her time off, Dr. Daniels enjoys the outdoors hiking, camping, traveling and gardening. She currently shares her home with her three kitties, Steve, Earl and Louis. Myrtle, the Coonhound, will always have a special place in her heart.

Georgine K. Danyi, VMD

Dr. Danyi was born and raised in Bethlehem and is a graduate of Freedom High School. She attended the University of Delaware as an animal science major, then transferred to Moravian College where she graduated with a B.S. in biology with honors in 1987. Dr. Danyi received her V.M.D from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine in 1991. Upon graduation, Dr. Danyi returned to the Lehigh Valley to join Northside Animal hospital, where she practiced until 2003. Dr. Danyi joined Dr. Cummings at Cummings Veterinary Hospital in 2006. While enjoying all aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr. Danyi especially values the bond veterinarians develop with their clients and patients. She has a keen interest in helping clients to better understand their pets’ behaviors.

Dr. Danyi lives in Nazareth with her husband, Scott Heckman, and enjoys visits from her two daughters and their pets. Over the years, her furry family has included English bulldogs, retired greyhounds, guinea pigs, beta fish and a horse. She currently shares her home with several hypoallergenic Siberian cats and some very sweet Cavalier King Charles spaniels. Dr. Danyi enjoys planning trips and traveling, collecting beach glass, reading a good book and walking her dogs.

Erin B. Sweney, DVM

Dr. Sweney was born and raised in Hillsborough, New Jersey. She received her B.S. in animal science and minor in companion animal science from Rutgers University in 2017. Dr. Sweney flew to the island of St. Kitts where she attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed her clinical year at Colorado State University and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. Dr. Sweney then moved back to the NJ/PA area to start her career as a veterinarian.

In her spare time, Dr. Sweney loves spending time outdoors, hiking, traveling, and listening to music. She currently lives with her dog, a Jack Russell Mix, named Sadie and her three cats, Mia, Kali, and her island cat Gatsby.

Catelyn Tan, DVM

Dr. Tan has been serving our furry friends in the Lehigh Valley for the last 8 years. In 2017, she moved to Bethlehem with her husband and their two pets from Ithaca after finishing her clinical year at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University. Dr. Tan’s focus and interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and nutrition.

On her days off, Dr. Tan enjoys foraging, going to farmers markets, and cooking an early supper on a sunny day. She has two pets of her own. Lobster (a blue tabby) who gives judgmental looks all throughout the day but is really a secret nice guy. He also loves wearing his Hawaiian shirt. And Harper (a chocolate and tan dapple Dachshund) who has a bark like a Doberman and always fetches only halfway.

Dr. Tan believes in treating her patients like her own pets. Together working with the pet owners to give the best care continues to be the principle of Dr. Tan’s practice of veterinary medicine.

James Todd Cummings, DVM
